CALIPSO Data Validation Site NEWS
- March 25, 2009
The CALIPSO payload is operational in Data Acquisition Mode.
Inclination Maneuver #2 will be performed on April 1st and a braking maneuver
may be performed on April 14th. The payload will be off-line from
about 0100UT to 1300 UT on each maneuver day to support the spacecraft operations.
- March 18, 2009
CALIPSO is operating in data acquisition mode with the backup laser.
Pending review, the instruments are expected to continue gather science data
using the current laser tuning parameters.
Inclination maneuver #2 is scheduled for April 4th with a braking maneuver adjustment on April 14th.
- March 04, 2009
The CALIPSO Laser will be offline for Laser 1 activation and tuning activities.
Normal laser operations may resume on March 20th, pending successful tuning operations.
- Feburary 25, 2009
The CALIPSO payload remains in a diagnostic state while laser 2 is being analyzed.
Pursuant to the scheduled laser switch plan, the redundant laser (laser 1) activation sequence will begin
on March 4th. Checkout and laser tuning activites are scheduled from this time until March 20th.
CALIPSO will be performing the A-Train Spring 2009 inclination maneuver sequence starting March 3rd.
- November 19, 2008
CALIPSO will perform a drag makeup maneuver on or after December 17th.
Due to low solar activity, the maneuver may be delayed until January. T
he ground track files will include the Leap Second at the end of December.
A line with the time stamp '31 Dec 2008 23:59:60' will be in all ground track files that span this time.
All entries after this time will properly account for the Leap Second.
- August 26, 2008
The CALIPSO payload is in SAFE mode as of 5:37UT on August 26th.
The payload should be back in data acquisition mode on August 27th at about 1400UT.
A small inclination maneuver will be performed on October 1st, which will has the payload down for about 12 hours.
The next DMU maneuver will be in mid-October.
